Many people mistakenly associate cellulose with an increased fire risk because it is made from newspaper. Here at ISOCELL, we are dispelling this misconception.
Proven safety: Why cellulose is the best choice
The notion that cellulose insulation is considered highly flammable because of its origin is a misconception that our ISOCELL solution impressively dispels. The combination of mineral salts and high material density creates a barrier that deprives the fire of oxygen and inhibits its spread. In the event of a fire, a protective char layer forms, effectively shielding the core of the insulation.
Just how safe the material is can be proven ‘in black and white’: ISOCELL is classified as fire class B-s2, d0 – a very good rating – in accordance with the European standard EN 13501-1.
- B: Flame-retardant.
- s2: Limited smoke emission in the event of a fire.
- d0: No burning droplets or falling embers.
