International award winner: ISOCELL's 'Village Square' impressed jury and visitors alike

Sustainable, timeless and now award-winning too

Our exhibition stand was honoured internationally with the ‘Exhibit Design Award’ in silver and the ‘Austrian Event Award’ in bronze. A success that demonstrates how having the courage to slow things down pays off in the hustle and bustle of trade fairs.

Amidst the often noisy and cold hustle and bustle of the BAU in Munich and the DACH+HOLZ in Stuttgart, we have consciously created a counter-movement. Our aim: a sanctuary that creates a sense of security and offers space for what really matters – personal conversation.

An oasis of wood

In the world of ISOCELL, direct interaction is of the utmost importance. Many of our best solutions arise from dialogue with our partners and customers. That is precisely why we created the 250 m² “village square”. Crafted from local spruce wood, with a real tree at its centre and inviting seating, the stand encourages genuine village square conversations.
“We wanted to be an oasis in a noisy and garish environment, inviting people to linger and offering a good setting for conversations,” explains Gabriele Leibetseder, Head of Sales and Technology at ISOCELL. The architecture strikes the perfect balance: an inviting openness to the outside and a sheltered atmosphere inside, which directs the focus entirely towards the interaction.

Technical finesse and modular construction

Behind the cosy atmosphere lies the finest engineering. To construct the stand within an extremely short timeframe of just one week, it was designed entirely using a modular approach. Over 90 CAD drawings were required to precisely realise the complex timber structure. The system was fully assembled in advance to ensure everything ran smoothly at the trade fairs.

Sustainability as a principle

A key feature of our stand concept is the consistent conservation of resources. Our village square is ‘Built to Last’: the wooden elements are designed so that they can be reused across many events. Should a component be damaged, it is not discarded but shortened and reused elsewhere. This maintains the material cycle.

International recognition

This vision has now been recognised twice over. The jury of the Exhibit Design Awards praised the “wonderfully executed balance between technical ingenuity and storytelling”. We were also delighted to receive a bronze award at the Austrian Event Awards.
We would like to thank our partners at AREA Lab and Atelier Damböck for the superb execution and look forward to the next village square conversations with you!
